For over 15 years, Pastor Tyshawn Gardner has surrendered to the ministerial call the Lord has upon his life. Following the directives of God he has served in numerous ministry capacities in three different local churches; First Baptist Church, Gordo, Alabama; Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, Northport, Alabama; and Plum Grove Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. In January 2003, Pastor Gardner became Pastor and Shepherd of Plum Grove Baptist Church, ministries, and its members. He has taken on a pastoral role specifically designed for someone with a heart of love and compassion for God’s people. Pastor Gardner teaches the Word of God believing it to be the spiritual nourishment essential for survival in this day and time. He places special emphasis on the pure Word of God to be spiritually empowering to those who hear it and thus, promotes a life of victory in the Lord. His passion for ministry is conveyed in his sermonic messages where Dynamic greatly describes his thirst for God. His relationship with the Lord is reflected in his social consciousness and in the innovative ways he proclaims and preaches God’s Word. Pastor Gardner is an active community leader in the city of Tuscaloosa, and an avid preacher and speaker throughout the Southeastern United States. Serving on numerous boards and organizations in the Tuscaloosa area warrants him opportunity to be visible in the community and allows him to be actively engaged in intricate events and the affect they will have on our community. Pastor Gardner is a native of Liberty, Alabama in Pickens County and a graduate of Pickens County High School. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in both Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and is currently in the Master of Divinity program at Beeson Divinity School at Samford University, in Birmingham, Alabama. He is Co-Founder of the Keepers of the Flame Marriage Ministry. Pastor Gardner is married to the beautiful Shonetay Gardner. They have four children; Coretta (Corey), Tristan, Titus and Tyson. Pastor Gardner and his family currently reside in Northport, Alabama.
