Our Ministry Philosophy
The Plum Grove Baptist Church is a Family of Biblically
empowered Christians, committed to Worship, Discipleship, Spiritual Growth and
Maturity, and Communal Empowerment. We firmly believe that every church member
is a contributing member in time, talent, and tithes. We are committed to the
task of bringing every person in our community into a personal relationship
with Jesus Christ and helping all members of our church and community realize
God's potential, purpose and plan for their life. We believe in restoring, repairing,
and reviving broken and damaged lives by applying love, understanding, The Word
of God and the power of the Holy Spirit.

What We Believe
We believe the Bible is
the inerrant Word of God. We believe the Bible is relevant to every life and
situation in life. We believe it is the authoritative standard for every individual,
age, family and church.
We believe in the Holy
Trinity. That the Godhead exist eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and
Holy Spirit, and that these three are one.
We believe that God is
the creator by His command of the whole universe and all in it belongs to HIM.
We believe that Jesus Christ
in the flesh was both God and man. We believe, as the scriptures attest, that
he was born of a virgin, he was crucified, and died as the perfect sacrifice
for the redemption of man, and that he was buried and raised from the dead on
the third day.
We believe that all who
confess Jesus Christ and believe that God raised Him from the dead shall be
saved.
We believe that since Jesus
Christ is the perfect atonement for sin and by His shed blood alone are we saved,
and since salvation is the grace gift of God, unearned, that a TRUE believer
cannot lose his salvation, but sin will and can hinder the loving and needful
fellowship with God and result in the discipline of God.
We believe in the second
coming of Jesus Christ, bodily and visibly to this earth.
We believe that at His
coming the bodies of the believers will be raised and that all who are alive
at His appearing will be join Him and dwell in His presence.
We believe that Worship
and effective ministry is the direct results of Christian empowered and governed
by the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the gifts
of the Spirit of God. We believe that every believer has a spiritual gift that
when developed, and applied Biblically, edifies the body of Christ.
We believe that the local
church was ordained by the Lord for worship, exhortation, and as the primary
place for spiritual growth and Kingdom service.
We believe that the believers
engaged in the local church experience should be actively involved in holistic
ministry to the community, which involves: empowering the disinherited, fighting
for social justice and economic empowerment, building and restoring healthy
relationships, advocating solid secular education, elderly and senior care,
and eliminating generational, institutional and individual evils.
